The Southern Association of Agricultural Scientists (SAAS) will hold its Annual Meeting and Conference in Orlando, Florida, February 4 - 8, 2006.

Located in a tropical paradise in the heart of the world's most popular vacation destination, Wyndham Orlando Resort will be this year’s meeting destination. Lush gardens and romantic lagoons make it easy to forget that this elegant Orlando resort is located on bustling International Drive . Florida's most thrilling theme parks - Walt Disney World®, Universal Orlando Studios® and Sea World® Adventure Park - and the Orange County Convention Center are only minutes away.

SAAS registration fee remains at $40 faculty and $5 for graduate students plus fees for your individual sections/associations. There is no SAAS registration fee for undergraduate students. Hotel Room reservation deadline is January 13, 2006, to receive the block room rates.

The Opening General Session followed by the Business Meeting will start at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2006, with door prize drawings for attendees!  The Opening General Session is on The Future of Animal Agriculture in North America. Animal agriculture is undergoing fundamental change. This change is not limited to any particular size or type of livestock operation, nor is it limited to the farm. Every facet of the animal food chain-- from genetics to retailer to food service outlet-- is trying to adjust to the rapid pace of change. This session is sponsored by Farm Foundation and the SAEA, and will take a comprehensive look at this industry. All SAAS associations and represented discipline are invited to attend this session.

Various sections have made calls for papers and presentations; check your section web site for additional information and association’s registration information.

See you in Orlando !!!
